Description

Assembled from three plots – aux Lavières, aux Allots and aux Herbues – this fermented with up to a quarter of whole bunches in the vat, and then aged in small oak barrels, of which 20% were new. In colour, this is light garnet-purple, its aromas being discreet and fine. Palate shows intense fruitiness, with freshly harmonious, appealing length (for drinking 2023-2026+).

We have been following with mounting enthusiasm the wines made by Edouard Confuron and his parents at this Domaine, and were thrilled to make our first shipments in 2021. This is very much a family affair, with 66 different plots of vines being cultivated, across nearly 13 hectares. They have lovely examples from key villages and sites on the Côte de Nuits. Substantial holdings in Vosne-Romanée now allow them to separate out grapes coming from two top sites, La Colombière and Hautes Maizières, to make individual cuvées of these wines.
