2020 Auxey-Duresses Rouge Les Hoz, Domaine Agnès Paquet

There are two sectors in this vineyard, half being nearly 60 years old, the other rising 20. Limestone content in the soil gives this red Auxey vitality and delicate perfume. The grapes were in excellent health, so a higher proportion than usual of whole clusters (40%), were included for fermentation, without de-stemming, to bring supple texture, freshness and spicey aromas. Medium deep in colour, this is attractively fragrant with red and black fruits. Palate is well-rounded, with harmonious, gentle tannins, very vibrant. Highly recommended for both medium and longer term (for drinking 2024-2030+).
