This is not a First Growth, but represents Santenay’s appealing fruitiness, at a reasonable price, with engaging stylishness. It is a success almost every vintage, and time has shown it ages well. The vines lie up-slope from the Clair Domaine, downhill from First Growth La Maladière. Colour is very deep, ruby-purple, aromas show pure fruit, with fresh ripeness. Palate is richly structured, with good middle, gentle tannins, refreshing aftertaste (for drinking 2023-2027+).
