Champerrier is a red clay soil, rich in iron, on the northern, Brochon side of Gevrey, lying where the slope begins to soften, beneath First Growth Les Champeaux. Vine-age averages more than 60 years, and grapes were fully de-stemmed, this year. Purple-ruby colour is rich, aromas were tight yet intense, when tasted in October 2022. This is a wine which regularly opens up soon after bottling, giving invigorating fruit, with gentle tannins (for drinking 2023-2028+).
