The legend of the Plan de Dieu (‘Plain of God’) goes back to the Middle Ages: it was said that anyone who ventured into this area of thick scrubland, peopled by bandits, would do well to put their trust in God. Vines now thrive in this sector of the Côtes du Rhône, where clay soils are laced with pebbles. Having a deep ruby-purple colour, aromas of this 2022 Grenache (80%) / Syrah (20%) blend are deeply perfumed: warmly spiced black fruits, chocolate with a hint of garrigue. Palate is full bodied and luscious, with satisfying generosity of fruit and velvety texture. Richness and power are finely balanced by freshness, the finish having a light grip of tannins and being long-flavoured.
