This comes from 100 year old vines, half of which were planted in 1918, half in 1919. The grapes are tiny, 20% of the bunches were included with their stems attached, and the wine has been ageing in 40% new oak barrels. Colour is a solid, deep purple, the nose showing rich, fine aromas. Palate is dense and compact, with chewy tannins and an impressive, long finish. This needs time to soften, and will benefit from at least 4-5 years bottle-age (for drinking 2025-2032+).
