La Sabarotte is the Domaine’s most powerful wine, from south-facing, old, terraced vines planted in 1947. It is maturing 70% in new oak barrels, colour being very deep purple, the nose being splendidly complex and expressive: richly aromatic with floral, black and red fruits underpinned by delicate sweet spice. This is a mouth-coating, powerful, finely concentrated wine, with all elements firmly held in place by a fresh, mineral structure. With ample ripe tannins, this will age magnificently (for drinking 2025-2038+).
