2020 Côtes du Rhône Villages Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Font de Courtedune

This wine comes from a single 3-hectare parcel of vines on gravelly/sandy soils, which borders the Domaine’s Châteauneuf du Pape vineyards. The 20% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah which support old vine Grenache in the blend (average age 45 years) give this a wonderful black fruit, liquorice and savoury spiced profile. They also contribute fine structure and a fresh tannic grip, giving lift to the natural fleshiness and full body of the Grenache (for drinking winter 2022-2024+).
