From vines high in the hills in the commune of Malleval, at the southern tip of Condrieu, Stéphane stresses the importance of retaining acidity in the Viognier grapes, not allowing a hint of over-ripeness or heaviness to sneak in. In 2020, this is a particular success, having the fullness, bright aromatics and fleshiness so characteristic of Condrieu, whilst boasting excellent freshness and lift, and harmonious 12.5% abv (14.5% is commonly found in Condrieu). Colour is pale gold, having intense aromas of fresh, spiced apricots. This is a finely concentrated wine, with a supple, creamy texture, and a long, elegant finish (for drinking 2022-2024+).
