Here Stéphane creates a wine that is as close as one can get to enjoying Côte Rôtie, but from the less grand, excellent value, Collines Rhodaniennes appellation. The vines lie on a high, granite slope on the edge of the Côte-Rôtie appellation, vines averaging 40 years in age. It aged for 12 months in 1-5 year-old oak barrels. Deep ruby colour, aromas are attractively fragrant, with notes of ripe cassis, black cherry and black pepper spice. Palate is medium bodied, having lovely brightness and energy, as well as excellent clarity and intensity of fruit flavours. This has a wonderful, fine texture and a line of freshness from start to finish. A smart buy, at £15.83 per bottle in bond (for drinking 2022-2026+).
Please note, this en primeur wine is limited to 1 case online. More may be available: please call 020 7584 7927 or email to enquire further.
