Muletiers comes from a single plot of 50-year-old vines, with their roots in pure granite soils. The result is consistently a Saint-Joseph that has admirable depth and intensity. It has been ageing in 600 litre demi-muids, for bottling later this spring. Dense purple colour, aromas recall sweet, ripe black cherry with peppery spiciness. Palate is luscious and full, with good stuffing, a mineral frame and a finish that is impressively long (for drinking 2023-2030+).
