Château Carbonnieux is the Perrin’s best known, and most prestigious property, which they bought in 1956. Brothers Eric and Philibert produce a classic red here, with excellent ageing potential. This 2014 boasts alluring aromas of pencil lead, spice and scented black berries. The palate is ripe and intense, with a fine texture and excellent length. Hitting its stride (we recommend decanting an hour or two before serving), this also shows great promise (for drinking now-2030+).
