The Guillemot-Michels, Marc and Pierrette, with daughter Sophie and son-in-law Gautier, farm their vineyards according to biodynamic principles, and the soils are subsequently teeming with life. 2019 was a vintage of small volumes, due to spring frost and a dry summer, but the tiny Chardonnay grapes that came in at harvest were beautifully concentrated both in flavour and acidity. The finished wine is a wonderful success, having energy, tension and finesse. Colour is a bright, pale green-gold, with fine, incredibly pure aromas combining fresh nectarine and orange blossom. The palate is full bodied and layered, having freshness and intensity, with a beguiling, silky texture. The finish is taut and long-flavoured.
