2020 Montlouis Sec Clos de Mosny, Domaine de la Taille aux Loups

From a silex-soiled, 6 hectare plot within the 12 hectare, walled Clos du Mosny, this cuvée is made from the second harvesting sweep of the vineyard -“at harvest-time we have 120 pickers, to ensure that grapes are brought in exactly at the right moment, when there is perfect balance between ripeness and acidity”, says Jean-Philippe Blot. This 2020 is pale gold, having multi-layered aromas of apple blossom, almond pastry and spice. The palate is mouth-filling, rounded and supple. There is tremendous depth of flavour, refined structure and a long, mineral finish (for drinking 2022-2030+).
