2016 Château Lalande Villeneuve, Medoc

Here is a lovely Médoc from vines located on deep Garonne gravels in the commune of Valeyrac. The much-admired Médoc expert, Eric Boissenot, is the oenologist here which may explain the excellent quality. 61% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon with 2% Cabernet Franc, colour is mid ruby, aromas being scented and pure with red fruits. Medium bodied, the palate has seductive silkiness, tannins being well-integrated, the finish having finesse (13%).
