Set in the village of Varrains, Didier and Céline Sanzay`s 28 hectare estate dates back to 1880. Didier represents the 5th generation to run the estate, with son Ludovic now at his side. The organically cultivated vines for this Saumur-Champigny lie on `tuf` limestone soils, giving a style of Cabernet Franc that is plush, finely textured and has vivid fruitiness. Bright ruby in the glass, aromas are classic for the variety: cassis and fresh red berries. Palate is full, having a lovely core of generous fruitiness, the finish being harmonious and lively.
