This little-known property in the southern Graves has been farmed since 2003 by the brilliant Professor Denis Dubourdieu of Bordeaux University, and his sons. Sadly Denis passed away in 2016, however his family has made a superb success of this vintage. The gravelly hillocks on which the vines grow are underlain by clay, which held moisture well, preventing leaf-loss during the hot, dry summer. The wine is assembled from 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 30% Merlot. Colour is impressively deep purple-ruby, with fresh, fully ripened red fruit aromas of great charm. The palate is full-bodied, with dense fruit, admirable freshness and lovely, supple length (totally delicious, for drinking 2019-2022+).
