Paul Symington likened the 2016 Dow’s character to a feisty young thoroughbred, difficult to tame, with a ripple of muscle. It is certainly an impressive wine, deeply coloured, one can almost smell the warm schist soil, from the steep vineyard hillsides, in its complex aroma. As usual, Dow is drier in style, but with tremendous depth and weight. It has dense black fruits that are very pure, with floral tones and a long and rich finish (for drinking 2024-2050+).
