This comes from adjacent terroirs to the Grand Vin at Brane-Cantenac (the produce of young vines being relegated to a 3rd label, called Margaux de Brane). This is not really a 2nd wine, but an earlier-drinking, softer version. The blend is 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 58% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Colour is purple-ruby of medium depth, nose shows fresh, rich fruitiness. Palate is dense and charming, well-rounded, soft on the finish – a potentially delicious mouthful (for drinking 2023-2030+).
