There is a high level of soil and sub-soil diversity, with a mosaic of orientations and a 60 metre difference in height from top to bottom of the Clos. Eleven individual vinifications in newly-acquired, small vats, now take place, so these differences may be fully expressed. Over 80% whole bunches were retained, and this has been ageing in 100% new oak barrels. The result in 2019 is a gorgeous wine of sumptuous richness and complexity. Colour is solid- ruby-purple, aromas already floral, fragrant and complex, when tasted in October. Palate shows vivacious, bouncing fruitiness, with seamless attack, middle and aftertaste, gentle tannins, and exceptionally elegant very long aftertaste. This is a very great wine (for drinking 2025-2040+).
