This comes from relatively young vines, due south-facing, which are farmed rather than owned by the domaine. The importance of mature vines or old vines is much less significant for Chardonnay than for Pinot Noir, and a youthful white Burgundy vineyard can often produce wines of striking vivacity and fruit intensity, as is the case here. Colour is pale, yellow-gold, with a hint of fresh muscat in the aroma – as is often found in Montagny. Palate shows lively, dancing fruitiness, with good volume and rich, smooth aftertaste (for drinking 2022-2025).
