Les Teurons lies at the heart of the Beaune First Growths, and this plot adjoins the most famous one, Les Grèves. Partly the vines are protected, and warmed, by the side-walls of an ancient quarry, partly lying downhill from it, and are more than 50 years old. Barrel ageing has been taking place, with just 20% being new oak. Purple-ruby colour is of medium depth, aromas are plentiful, ripe and appetising. Palate shows flamboyant fruitiness, with impressive density, gentle, mouth-coating tannins and harmonious finish (for drinking 2024-2030+).
