These vines lie in the upper part of Clos Vougeot, the Grand Maupertuis section, over the wall from Grands-Echézeaux. Four barrels were made in 2020, of which two were new. Half the bunches went into the vat as whole clusters, without de-stemming, and very gentle punching down took place. This is deep purple in colour, with open, fresh aromas of youthful beauty. Palate is broadly structured, densely fruity, superbly fresh, with magnificent length – surely one of the greatest Grands Crus of the vintage (for drinking 2026-2045+).
