Solely owned by the family, this is Pommard’s tiniest First Growth, located in the heart of the village, in the shadow of the sturdy church tower. The vines are seriously old (planted in 1954), and this year have given a wine whose colour is medium deep, with generous, ripe aromas of evident, youthful beauty. This was vinified in the barrel, which was rolled about – to enable gentle extractions – and in which it later aged. As in past vintages, it will be bottled solely into magnums. Ripe tannins are present, with super length (for drinking 2025-2035+).
