There are many short rows of vines here, so treatments have to be done by horse, by mini-caterpillar, or by humans, with a spray-tank on the back. The vines are over 100 years old, and gave just three barrels in 2020, one barrel being new, one a year old, one two years old. As Claudie does for her Beaune Epenottes, layers of whole clusters and de-stemmed grapes went into the vat. The result is magnificent: deeply purple in colour, with aromas which are rich, ripe and complete. Palate shows full fruitiness, with balanced structure, rounded tannins and floral, impressive aftertaste. This is a superb First Growth Pommard (for drinking 2025-2035+).
