Domaine Henri Magnien is the only owner with plots in both sectors of this Grand Cru, Ruchottes du Dessus (white oolite subsoil), and Ruchottes du Bas (Prémeaux limestone). This surely contributes to the extraordinary richness, complexity, harmony and finesse of this wine. The average age of the vines – 45-50 years – no doubt also plays its significant part. Only three barrels were made in 2020, of which one was new, and 25% whole clusters were retained for fermentation. Colour is very deep, purple-ruby, aromas are vivacious and open, recalling fresh cherries. Palate is poised between fruit intensity, ample structure and fine tannins, finishing long, with charming, delicate elegance. Please let us know your wishes quickly, so we may do our best to share bottles as fairly as possible (for drinking 2024-2040+).
