The family has been able to take back various vineyards, including this one, for cultivation by the Domaine, which had previously been looked after by a crop-sharer. The half-share of grapes at harvest time which previously went to the vigneron, in payment for his year’s work, now come into the Domaine cellars. This means that a separate cuvée of Vosne-Romanée has been made, from a 50-year-old plot of land (with a few younger, infill vines) directly in front of the family’s home in Vosne-Romanée, called La Colombière. This has been ageing in 25% new barrels. Deep purple ruby, with fresh aromas recalling black fruits, palate shows lovely fruit density, with silky texture and precise, smooth tannins on the aftertaste being subtle and long (for drinking 2023-2030+),
