This vineyard has deep, clay-limestone soils giving a style of Chassagne that is the fleshiest of the Blain-Gagnard’s Premier Crus. The Blains do very little lees-rousing here, so as not to make the wine too round, allowing it to retain vibrancy alongside its natural richness. Pale gold colour with a beautiful, aromatic scent, the palate is full, generous and richly concentrated. This is a true ‘vin de plaisir,’ having immediate charm, silky texture and a crisp finish (for drinking 2022-2026+).
