Situated north of Saint-Estèphe, close to the banks of the Gironde Estuary, La Gorce produces a classic Médoc of great richness and depth. This wine has been shipped specifically with this winter in mind. Mid ruby-garnet colour, the aromas of this 2012 are attractive and complex, recalling blackcurrants, spice and licorice. This is a full-bodied, creamily textured wine, with good concentration of ripe, spicy fruit flavour, balanced tannins, and a vibrant, long finish. A lovely claret to drink now and over the next 2+ years.
