These vines grow on land above Volnay, between the village and the hills. Planted in iron-rich, pebbly red soils, they consistently give a Hautes Côtes de Beaune of surprising fruit intensity and finesse: in our eyes, this is a ‘mini Volnay’. Colour of this 2016 is bright purple-ruby of medium depth, the nose being open, fresh and sweet-smelling with red berry, Pinot Noir fruitiness. This is medium bodied, fleshy and lively, with bright, pure fruit and a satisfyingly fresh aftertaste (for drinking 2018-2022+).
