Vines have thrived in the mountainous north-west flank of Corsica since the 13th Century. Etienne Suzzoni is a leading light in this “Corse-Calvi” region, with 55 hectares under vine.
A blend of 50% Nielluciu (Sangiovese), 30% Sciaccarellu, 10% Syrah and 10% Grenache, this 2016 red has lovely sweet, scented aromas recalling red berries and spices. This is a rich, full-bodied, succulent wine, but there is vibrant freshness here too: attractive flavours of fresh raspberries combine with spiced orange peel and dark chocolate. Texture is creamy, the finish being bright and clean.
