Les Cazetiers is a perfectly positioned First Growth, which adjoins the equally iconic Premier Cru Clos Saint-Jacques. Both dominate a superb Gevrey- Chambertin hillside above the village, which just missed out on being classified Grand Cru, in the 1930s. Faiveley is now the largest owner in Les Cazetiers, and this is again one of their most thrilling wines. Ruby-purple colour is of medium depth, with aromas leaping powerfully from the glass. This is a richly built wine, with intermingling layers of dense fruit and mouthcoating tannins, finishing powerfully with fresh overtone and impressive length (for drinking 2022-2038+).
