2016 Lagrein, Kellerei Kurtatsch, Alto Adige

2016 was a great year for the reds of the Alto Adige, and this 100% Lagrein is fabulous. Lagrein is a very thick skinned varietal hence the vibrantly, deep purple-ruby colour of this wine. The nose is incredibly perfumed, with aromas of morello cherry, dark chocolate and violets. The palate is intense, medium bodied and well structured, with rich bramble fruit, gently spiced notes and fine, ripe tannins. This is a beautifully pure, refreshing red wine, with lovely depth and a harmonious, lifted finish.
