This is one of Mercurey’s greatest terroirs for red wine, and rightly classified a First Growth. It was aged in 25% new oak, and bottled in December 2017. Colour is rich purple, with bright, complex aromas. Flavours show remarkable richness, with striking attack and mid-palate, and lovely length. Tannins are present but well-judged to ensure impressive, mid-term ageing potential. Highly recommended (for drinking 2020-2028+).
