The second wine of second growth Château Pichon Longueville Baron, and named after the turrets that embellish the château, here is a wine of great class and finesse. The 2015 is a beauty, being a blend of 55% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, with 30% new oak. Deep ruby colour, aromas are perfumed and pure, recalling spiced cassis, with hints of cedar and pencil lead. The palate is finely textured, with tightly concentrated fruit, precise structure, and classy, velvety tannins. The finish is long and lifted, for drinking now to 2027+.
