60% of this wine is from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes (one of the highest proportions ever seen at this property), the balance being 35% Merlot, with 5% Petit Verdot. Quality was so high that 70% of the estate’s production made it into the Grand Vin (against 65% last year). The wine is presently ageing in 40% new barrels, with 30% each in barrels which have held one, or two harvests. Colour is rich and deep, with vibrantly fruity, black cherry aromas, both fresh and open. Palate is richly structured, with beguiling, fresh fruitiness, gentle tannins and immaculate, lovely length. Superb value (for drinking 2019-2028).
