Domaine Faiveley is a major owner in Chambertin Clos de Bèze, possessing 1.3 hectares – a significant proportion of the total 15.4 hectares. Colour is lovely purple-ruby, with fresh aromas showing red fruits, earthiness and smoke. The palate is striking for its intensely concentrated fruitiness. As is often the case, Clos de Bèze is not very demonstrative when youthful. like Le Montrachet, it takes bottle-age to reveal its astonishing qualities and length. This wine is undoubtedly powerful, with well-rounded tannins. It also shows the hallmark Clos de Bèze generosity – promising magnificent development, for mid- and long-term keeping (and drinking 2020-2035+).
