One of the stand-out bottles of the vintage here, this comes fom a south-facing vineyard uphill from First Growths Les Arvelets and Les Charmots. The fruit was so healthy that a judicious proportion of whole bunches were added, bringing complex spiciness. Colour is rich, ruby-purple, with aromas showing superbly ripe, fresh Pinot fruitiness. Palate is well structured without being heavy, with beguilingly characterful, dense fruit. Tannins are present without harshness, the aftertaste being impressively long (for drinking 2019-2030+).
