Named for Claudie’s great-grandmother (whose real name was Emilie-Anne) this comes 100% from 60 year-old vines growing in the commune of Pommard. They lie not far from the plane-tree-lined Route Nationale 74 (where Pommard’s best Bourgognes are made), opposite the Château de Pommard. Due to frost-damage, only 6 barrels were made in 2016 (where there had been 10 in 2015). This has very pretty purple-ruby colour, with openly fragrant, seductive Pinot Noir aromas. Palate has harmonious fruitiness, allied to medium-weight body, fresh aftertaste, and gentle tannins. For lovers of Pinot Noir, it is easy to fall for this wine (for drinking 2018-2022+).
