This is not a First Growth, but represents Santenay’s appealing fruitiness, at a reasonable price, with engaging stylishness. The vines lie downhill beneath First Growth La Maladière. The colour is rich ruby-purple, the nose being broodingly ripe. The palate shows solid fruit with great persistence, bright tannins, and refreshing finish (for drinking 2019-2023+).
