2016 Vosne-Romanee Aux Communes, Domaine Seguin-Manuel

This is the fourth vintage that Thibaut Marion has owned Vosne-Romanée vines – a rare and precious addition to this cellar. He has fine-tuned the wine-making as he has got to know the vineyard better, and in 2016 more than 20% whole bunches were added to the fermentation vat, as grape health and ripeness were both so excellent. Colour is ruby-purple of medium depth, the nose being floral, open, fine and complex. This is an impressive mouthful, with rich fruitiness, broad structure, admirable freshness and splendid length (for drinking 2020-2028+).
