The Domaine owns 4 hectares of village Gevrey-Chambertin in 6 parcels, from which they regularly make one of the most impressive examples of the appellation. 25% whole bunches went into the fermentation vat, and the wine aged in 30% new oak barrels. Rich purple in colour, with very fresh, open, Pinot Noir aromas, this has fine structure and substantial fruitiness. Nicolas Drouhin explains his wine-making objective: “To achieve delicate wines with round tannins” – which has clearly been achieved here. The wine has good length, with fresh harmony (for drinking 2020-2027+).
