This comes from a low-yielding, stony hillside plot, situated above Beaune Clos des Mouches. The Domaine is at the forefront of those demonstrating how to make Pommards of charm and softness. Global warming is certainly helping to bring better ripeness, but so is the input of the grower: “Our object is to make the finest wines possible” says Joannès, and here is evidence of their success. Colour is medium-deep, aromas are bright, with raspberry notes. Palate has bright, alluring fruitiness, with dense middle, gentle tannins, lively length (for drinking 2020-2025+).
