This is not a First Growth, but represents Santenay’s appealing fruitiness, at a reasonable price, with engageing stylishness. The vines lie just uphill from the Clair Domaine, downhill from 1st Growth La Maladière. The colour is medium-deep red-purple, the nose initially showed discreet fruitiness, then opening up in the glass. Palate is very pretty, with dense fruitiness, silky tannins and refreshing lift on the finish (for drinking 2019-2023+).
