The Faiveley family has exclusively owned this Monopole Clos – where the vines straddle plots known as Le Rognet and Le Corton – since 1874. Here they regularly produce one of the grandest, long-lived, most complex Cortons in existence. Recent fine-tuning of the winemaking has resulted in softer tannins, without loss of potential longevity. In colour, this 2018 is very deep, aromas being fragrant, rich and mouth-watering. Palate is undeniably powerful, with magnificent, mouth-coating fruit richness, poised within a well-rounded, harmonious tannic framework. A superb wine, for medium and long-term keeping (for drinking 2023- 2038+).
