This comes from a 60-year-old vineyard on the north side of Gevrey-Chambertin, on sloping land below 1st Growth Les Champeaux. 30% whole bunches went into this cuvée, which has been maturing in 40% new barrels. It is deep purple in colour, with freshly fruity, peppery aromas which are open and plentiful. This has good structure, with serious depth of concentrated, bright fruit and well-rounded tannins on the finish. A wine with excellent potential (for drinking 2022-2028+).
