2018 Givry 1er Cru Clos du Cellier aux Moines, Domaine du Cellier aux Moines

Warm, dry summer conditions led to an early start to picking – on 29th August – under glorious blue skies. The grapes were ripe, healthy, and beautifully concentrated. As is becoming the norm here, a high percentage of whole bunches were included in the fermentation vats, contributing to the wine`s glorious perfume and very fine texture. Colour is bright purple-ruby, aromas being complex and fragrant, showing a rich mix of black berries, red cherries and raspberries, lifted by violet and sweet spice. This is a full bodied, elegant wine, which envelopes the palate with impressive density of fruit and fleshy, silky textures. There is crunchy freshness and buoyant energy here, the wine having precise structure and excellent, harmonious length. A most alluring prospect, we recommend for drinking from 2021 to 2029+.
