This vineyard is situated near the commune boundary with Volnay, and has been under the hammers of frost and hail, for many recent vintages. Only one barrel was produced in 2014 and 2016, only 3 in 2013, and just 5 barrels each in 2012 & 2015. 2017 finally came good with 15 barrels, and in 2018 there are 13 – so we are thrilled to have another decent allocation. The grapes were so healthy that about 25% of the bunches went into the vat without de-stemming, bringing complexity and silkiness. Colour is medium-deep purple, aromas are rich, fresh and pungent. Palate is full-bodied, with good structure, fine middle, well-managed, ripe tannins and excellent finish (for drinking 2021-2028+).
