Drouhin-Laroze owns an impressive 1.5 hectares of Bonnes-Mares, and the wine from it is consistently superb. In 2016, 25% of the grapes went into the fermentation vat as whole bunches, contributing aromatic complexity, intricacy of structure and silkiness of texture. Colour is medium-deep, purpleruby, with aromas which are clean and fine, though presently restrained. Palate is richly harmonious, with superb freshness, gentle tannins, and great length. An outstanding bottle, and one of the greatest in the cellar (for drinking 2023-2040+).
