The Domaine owns nearly 1.5 hectares here: an enviable vineyard-holding, with vines partly dating back to 1949. In 2016, 25% whole bunches were used in the fermentation vats, to bring added layers of complexity and creamy texture. The wine has been ageing 80% in new barrels. Colour is deep, rich purple, with aromas which are densely fruity, open and fine. This is fresher and more precise than our memories of the 2015 at the same stage. Palate shows splendid fruit, rich texture and magnificent length. A gorgeous wine, for the medium and very long term (for drinking 2023-2045+).
